This is not a photo of a painting in a glass frame. The paint is applied to the back of the sheet of plastic. To get the fine lines, e.g. in the feathers, I apply a layer of paint, then scrape away the thin lines, then apply another color over the whole section. I call painting on plastic like this "reverse painting" because instead of painting the things you want to be able to see when the painting is finished LAST, e.g. the face, you paint those first (all the black lines), then successively layer more color over it. The back of this painting looks like blobs. Only through the plastic can you see the actual design.
This is very small, about 1 - 1.5 inches wide and 6 - 7 inches tall. It's a clear shard of acrylic with paint applied in layers to the back.
